Decline of Western Civilization Part 1

The roots of the Los Angeles punk scene is captured in this classic 1981 film by Penelope Spheeris. Performances, interviews, and commentary shines a bright light on what was happening in the SoCal punk scene at the time, and being largely ignored by the mainstream music press.

Featuring Alice Bag Band, Black Flag, Catholic Discipline, Circle Jerks, Fear, Germs, and X

In 2016, The Decline of Western Civilization was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the United States National Film Registry, being deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

A huge thank you to Spheeris Films Inc, who graciously agreed to this special showing.

Federale is a six-piece ensemble based in Portland, OR. Spearheaded by longtime Brian Jonestown Massacre bassist Collin Hegna, the band was conceived as an outlet to channel inspiration from ‘60s & ‘70s European soundtracks, particularly those from Italy made famous by the Spaghetti Western & Giallo genres. As well as the narrative driven song stylings of Lee Hazlewood and Nick Cave.

Ty Walker and the Humanoids

Izaak Opatz

Ty Walker & The Humanoids is a group of heavy-hitter artists that bring what is often described as an 'otherworldly' performance to the stage. A space cowboy frontman leading a group of extraterrestrials are on a strange, musical journey. Their live sound combines elements of galactic country, art rock, soul and psychedelia accompanied by synthesizers, drum machines and samples, creating a strange yet beautiful sonic experience. Throw in interactive multimedia elements, some sci-fi schtick, and typically a crowd full of tin foil hats, and there you have an immersive experience the audience will not forget.

"Aliens have come to Earth to save the world by playing electronic country music." - The Missoulian

Izaak Opatz is a well-traveled, well-loved troubadour. His performance promises a captivating blend of country, folk, humor and heartbreak, straddling the line between unconventional and traditional. Izaak has a significant cult following in the Rocky Mountain region, the West Coast and beyond.

"Quirky Americana crossed with the indie-pop sensibility of the Shins, as performed by a Montana mountain man" - ROLLING STONE
